1. Worldwide Protests Against the Canadian Slaughter of Seals will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Canadian embassies and consulates and other locations around the world. More info on that later.
2. Protest at the Embassy of China - March 25th, noonish. More info on that later as well. The plan is to try to get as many dogs and cats as possible to show up. Everyone who is willing to pass out little flyers to people they see walking dogs - or to hang up around dog parks, etc.... please let us know. The flyers would read something like this:
ATTN all CATS and DOGS
We need your help!
An estimate of over 2 million dogs and cats JUST LIKE YOU are skinned in China for their fur every year. When the furs are sold to western countries they have been found falsely labeled under names such as "rabbit fur". Besides dying the most painful of deaths they also live their lives in the most terrible conditions, crammed together or piled on top of each other and barely able to move. We can only imagine how long they have to live like that before they are skinned, sometimes while still alive. The U.S ambassador to China has even admitted that skinning dogs and cats is 'standard' practice in China. Maintaining a distinct culture is one thing but brutal atrocities to cats and dogs is completely unacceptable. Help us bring awareness to the plight of your China friends, to demand a stop on all fur imports from China, and to publicly condemn cat/dog fur industry.
Please help us by bringing all your friends to join us in front of the Embassy on March 25th at noon.
Don't forget!:
a responsible companion-human
a snack
warm clothes if applicable

We have some other ideas as well in the works.... like depending on what media comes out, we may march over to A Channel and sit in front of them for a while, and do "Speaker's Corner"s.... dog masks, shirts for the dogs with slogans....
We are open to feedback and suggestions (links too?) Anyway, NO guarantees we will decide to use what you send, but we'd like to consider it. Feedback/suggestions can be directed towards the group or to Victoria or I, which/whomever you think is most appropriate. Anything about the brochure/posters would be great ASAP because we'd like to get them printed ASAP. We would also like to know if you think you can come out, and if you can bring a cat or dog!
