[4animals] News covering Bardot in Ottawa....

I was most irritated by a letter to the editor
wondering why activists don't seem to have a problem
with the treatment of other baby animals, such as farm
animals (trying to show that McCartney, Bardot etc.
are hypocrites).

um, yeah, most of us do. The celebrities who have come
out against the hunt are vegans, which shows
tremendous concern for all animals. And they are also
involved with many other aspects of animal advocacy.
Heather Mills McCartney is the honorary chair for Farm
Sanctuary's 2006 gala, for example.

The problem isn't hypocrisy on the part of activists;
if anything, it's a biased media who chooses to ignore
any animal advocacy issue outside of those that
involve cute animals. They will never cover issues
pertaining to farm animal advocacy, because that
challenges society's values too much.
