Animal Rights Awareness Week

Animal activist? Considering vegetarianism? Hate fur coats? Detest animal cruelty and abuse? Just interested in learning more? 
Then come out for OPIRG's Animal Rights Awareness Week!!
Learn about the plight of animals and the positive steps you can take in your daily life.

The Animal Rights Awareness Week kicks off with a Fur Protest, organized with Ottawa Animal Activists, Ottawa Veg and other animal activists, followed by movie nights and a Vegan BBQ. All are welcome!

When, Where and What:

Anti-Fur Demonstration: March 25th, Noon-1pm, 
in front of Shopper's Drug mart. Posters and flyers will be available. 

The Witness: Tuesday March 28th, 5:30pm-7pm, University Center (UC), Room 180
How does a construction contractor from a tough Brooklyn neighborhood become an impassioned animal activist? 

Meet Your Meat: Wednesday March 29th, 5pm-7pm, UC 282.
Think cows, pigs and chickens lead happy lives on farms? Ever wondered where your steak and hamburgers come from? Educate yourself.
                                      
Vegan BBQ: Thursday March 30th, 12:30-3:30pm.  
Mmmmm, FREE yummy food without the pain and suffering!  We'll be setting up in the quad!  (Weather permitting)

Peaceable Kingdom: Friday, March 31st, 5pm-7pm, UC 180.
We're told life is cruel. But does it have to be? What if the things you were taught don't make sense anymore?
