<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Unfortunately it looks like we won't
be trying for a media event at the upcoming Ribfest as the
potential media spokeperson is unavailable for the duration of
the Festival. On the flip-side, the same individual will be
donating that weekend to build cages and enclosures for a
new wildlife care centre near Algonquin Park! </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am a bit skeptical as to the
value a smaller demo at ribfest as</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>
we would likely be dealing with highly excited, die-hard carnivores and
we don't want to waste materials that cost money to print. So </FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>I am more inclined to perhaps plan a factory
farming leafletting session (and/or demo) at a later date outside
Loblaws or another location where people might be
more open to receiving information. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>However, this aswell as
other AR issues and ideas could be further discussed at an
upcoming meeting which will now be offered for the dates of
either:</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>> WEDNESDAY JUNE 14TH or</DIV>
<DIV>> THURSDAY JUNE 15TH</DIV>
<DIV>(since there is no longer a time limit to plan for a media event
at Ribfest)</DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>We have not held a meeting in some time so a
few things in particular that we would be very happy
to receive feedback on include:</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><EM>- The pros and cons of 'positive'
demonstration ideas as well as more confrontational demonstration
ideas. </EM></FONT></DIV>

<DIV><EM><FONT face=Arial size=2>- Should we add other elements to a factory
farming demo such as health risks of eating meat and environmental
consequences of eating meat like the link to the destruction of the
rainforest and the massive fossil fuel and water waste to run the factory
farms to try to strengthen the justification for not eating meat- or just
stick to animal rights/cruelty related reasons?</FONT></EM></DIV>

<DIV><EM><FONT face=Arial size=2>- ideas for what to have on signs at
factory farming/pro-veg demonstrations> ideas</FONT></EM><EM><FONT

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><EM>- creative ideas to share on ways
to draw media to factory farming, fur and/or other demonstrations
eg. a 'human meat tray', street theatre, props

<DIV><EM><FONT face=Arial size=2>- The possibility of setting up
TV's and DVD players downtown to play MEET YOUR MEAT and/or other
videos in the evening- for better visibility (They're doing
it in Toronto!)</FONT></EM></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><EM>- other animal rights related
issues people are interested in pursuing or
discussing.</EM></FONT></DIV>
