Canada allows higher pesticide residues on food than in Europe or 
elseware. Example, for the insecticide methoxychlor Health Canada 
considers safe residues to be 1,400 times the European limit. Canada is 
really light years behind other industrialized nations in addressing the 
health threats posed by pesticides.
